Coming Soon from Mindsensors: GlideWheel

GlideWheelPF

Do you like Power Function motors but hate the way you can’t use them with any degree of accuracy?  You love how compact they are but are not impressed with how many extension cables and converters you need to use them?

Well, soon, most, if not all, your reasons to not use a Power Function motor will disappear!  Enter the Mindsensors GlideWheel!

It is an Angle Sensor that by the looks of the picture on the right it will sit on top of an XL motor.  It will come in three models:

  • One model will allow you to connect PF Motors to NXT Motor port. It will have encoder support to control them precisely.
Second model will be similar, for RCX motors.
Third model will be a digital angle sensor, to measure angle with 1 degree precision.

A little while back, Mindsensors told me they were working on these but I had no idea they would be this compact!  I look forward to seeing how they work.  I will keep you posted about additional information as it becomes available.
