Yep.. I have one of those, needs a bit of configuring to get it to work ok, but once it works it briliant!
For HD you probably want N spec wireless, and if you use VLC as a player, you need to up the buffer a bit to compensate for possible network lag.
I use an NSLU2 from linksys, they are dead cheap, but only 100mbit. (which should be enough) You can use 2 USB external HD. They cost about 60-70 euro I think..
Otherwise Synology makes some nice ones, at a reasonable price (DS108j)
