When I started up Lego Digital Designer (LDD) this morning, I was greeted with a popup telling me that a new version was out. 120 odd Megabytes downloaded and installed later, I was presented with a very slick looking UI.
The thing I love about this version the most is the building instructions (BI). It now breaks up the model into sub models which you build and put together at a later stage, just like the official BIs. Oh and another very, very nice thing is that you can crank up the render quality and get beautiful models like the one to your left here. Just click on it to enlarge and you’ll see what I mean.
The model you see is actually the Zamor Programmable Bot made by my good friend NeXTSTORM. All of the BIs and programs can be downloaded from the ZPB’s web page.
Just wondering… Does this one have more technic bricks?
I have no idea! Download it and see for yourself 🙂
I think this new version is a bit heavier than the previous. (As is expected with most software.) I didn’t see much of a difference, except in the UI.
Also, why does it say 400 MB? A mistake by LEGO?: http://s2.postimage.org/2dMzr-b34304.png
Ok, I downloaded it´, and it’s awesome, with a lot more technic/ mindstorms bricks than the version I had before. I just don’t get how hinge a selection of objects at once; I think I need to group ’em or something, but I don’t know how to do that either. Do you know?
thx
I have no idea 🙂 I just downloaded it because I was building some robots based on an LDD file 🙂
Never Mind :-p
