Cool Kickstarter: Ground Drone

This time it’s not a little robot for educational purposes, but rather a kick-ass looking robotics platform that can even climb stairs!  Before I start going into details, check out the video.

This thing looks like it could come straight out of an action movie! It it made up of articulated sections that you can easily exchange.  Here are two examples:

Ground Drone Configurations
I think these drawings came from the Patent application for this robot.  The guy behind it, Phillip Walker, has set up a Kickstarter Campaign to start producing larger numbers of this bad boy.  The chassis looks really tough has a LOT of space inside to add your own guts to.  I don’t think there are many places you cannot go with this.  I really like that they used standard motors and power pack that are easily obtainable if you ever need a replacement, or indeed, an enhancement.

Go check out the campaign page, there are lots of cool pictures there and a run-down  of what kind of configurations you can expect for the various rewards.  Are you still here?
