Something that’s been brewing in the labs of Dexter Industries is sitting on my desk as I type this. It’s an NXT compatible GPS sensor. As you can see, it’s very compact. It’s still a prototype and chances are the final version will probably use more surface mounted components to make it smaller, still.
The info on the chips and components have been blurred out at the request of Dexter Industries. Don’t bother to guess or suggest what they are, I’ll never tell (and will remove comments that do).
I’ve tested it out on the balcony and it works very nicely. This is still a rough version, the firmware will have lots more features by the time it’s ready for production. When will that be, you ask? No firm date has been set as of yet, but I’ll keep you posted when I know more (and can tell you about it).
Thanks John for letting me be part of the beta testing!
A: Yay! Finally a commercially available GPS for the NXT!
B: How accurate is it? Can it be used to track something as slight as a few centimeters, or more like miles?
C: I didn’t know blog owners could delete comments on WordPress! By the way, I think the thing on the left is a ***. (Actually, if I said, you wouldn’t see the rest of the message, probably.)
I am not sure how accurate it is yet. I only tested it on my balcony and that’s tiny.
Not only can I delete comments, I can edit them, too 🙂
