John Hansen has written a very nice article on the new HiTechnic SuperPro board over on the Mindboards blog. He’s been very busy creating a new compiler for this board to allow you to write custom program in BrixCC to upload to this board. There is a lot of information about it on the NBC page. You can find a great PDF with the language specs here: [LINK].
Awesome job, John!
hi we’re the Icebreakers FTC team from Long Island NY, we were wondering what a prototype board is and what we could use it for for FTC. We have tried, but we still dont understand. Any information would be great. Thanks!
Hey there,
You could use the prototype board to create your own custom sensors, for example. I am not sure if the FTC allows you to use this sensor, though, you’d have to check the rules. Is there a particular type of sensor you are really missing now that would make you a stronger competitor?

I am on an FTC team, and we are using one to measure the rotation of an arm and to set up our autonomous mode. The old prototype board is allowed and still sold, but I do not believe that the new one is allowed.
Maybe in the season after this one 🙂
